Trepidation and Excitement: What will Indiana be like?

I'm already there in spirit, but I haven't even left Los Angeles yet!  Still collecting mosquito repellent, appropriate summer clothing, architectural field guides, and other items I'll need in Wabash, which did I tell you is notable as being the first electrically lighted city in the world (March 31, 1880).  I hear it's near Fort Wayne, a major city, but that's still pretty 'country' for someone like me.  I've never lived in a city less than 60,000 people, and that only for a few years, otherwise I've always been a big-city dweller with 4 million+ noisy neighbors.   I live in Los Angeles, a monster metropolis filled with cars, crime, everything any city could offer, and endless busy-ness.  Can't wait to experience living in a small town but have my worries:  Will they have a vegan restaurant?  What kind of conversations will I have there?  Is there any Yoga or Zumba?  Will I fit in? (probably not).  Oh, well, at least the Southern California accent is almost identical to the Midwestern one.  We'll talk alike,Wabash and I.  And, importantly, they do have a farmer's market so I can continue my "Buy American!" campaign.  I know, I drive a KIA, but don't hate on my Korean car.  I am already ashamed of it.  Luckily it's falling apart fast so I can soon get me a Chevy Volt or something like that.  Here's me and 66 at the beach in central CA, and another of another beach here in SoCal, Palos Verdes.  No, I'm not going to miss the beach.  I like it hot and humid.

  1. Nice picture near the Pointe Vicente lighthouse, one of my favorite secret hideouts in L.A.

For Zion National Park, research the Angel's Landing / Scout's Lookout Hike. Go for it!
